This sensor uses WMI to monitor Windows Registry objects specified by path. You may check the registry sensor and registry counter sensor that are part of the NetCrunch package to monitor registry changes in the result of some application installation. The software would then ask you to run the installation while track changes.ĭepending on the details you need and what the installer does.the PDF report can be anything from a few pages to 1,700 pages (the longest I have seen as the application we installed needed Excel add-ons, Dot Net installation, built-in SQL express etc). The software will need to create baseline (the software would run a few tests to see changes in System processes, CPU, page file, registry, temp files, AV reaction etc). You will need to have the installer ready (locally) There are several such software out there but they are not that easy to use unless you really know what you are trying to achieve ? I can then replicate a setting change and look back to see what files or registry settings have actually changed. Is there any software where you can basically give it the software exe, and ask it to monitor for registry and file system changes. The issue I have is that I have a piece of software, and when you make changes to the configuration, I'd expect it to perhaps be making changes to the registry or some sort of config file somewhere. I've seen a bunch of software online that seems to help more during installs to determine changes that are made to the system. ![]()
